Safety and Security

Safety in our arenas

Safety is a priority at all our arenas. Together with organizers, authorities, and other stakeholders in Gothenburg, we work to create a safe arena experience together.

In Sweden, it is the organizer of an event who is responsible for the safety of the audience during the event. Before the event, a special analysis and evaluation is made of what efforts need to be implemented to create a safe event. How and in what way the security work is set up depends partly on what type of event it is and partly on external factors.

The planning of the security work is led by the organizers together with the police and other authorities involved. The process starts early and takes place continuously until the event is carried out. Got Event, as an arena operator, participates as a party in the organizer’s security group.

In which way the organizer chooses to set up the security work is not communicated externally in case the information is used in the wrong way.

Decisions regarding bags at larger events

Since June 2025, there is no longer a general ban on bags at events. This means that the event organiser decides whether bags are allowed or not. In most cases, organisers allow smaller bags to be brought inside. The most common permitted dimensions are 40×40×20 cm, but it is important that you, as a visitor, check what applies to the specific event you are attending. Information about what applies to your event can be found under “Good to know” on the event page.

You can read more about the current decision on polisen.se.

Terror threat level lowered from high to elevated

On 23 May 2025, the Swedish Security Service lowered the national threat level from level four (high threat) to level three (elevated threat). This does not result in any major changes to our approach to safety and security. We continue to primarily follow the guidelines and directives issued by cooperating authorities. Given the current global situation, we have well-established routines and plans in place to maintain a high level of awareness around security among our staff.
