World-Class Synchronized Skating as the Leon Lurje Trophy Celebrates 20 Years
January 29-31, some of the world's top synchronized skating teams will gather in Gothenburg to compete in the prestigious Leon Lurje Trophy, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In 2027, the competition is also part of the ISU Challenger Series, one of the sport's leading international competition circuits.
When the Leon Lurje Trophy takes over Frölundaborg, spectators can look forward to spectacular formations, advanced lifts, and programs that combine technical excellence with creativity and emotion. As 16 skaters move across the ice as one unit, they create a performance experience that few other sports can match.
Since its debut in 2007, the Leon Lurje Trophy has established itself as a key meeting place for the international synchronized skating community. The competition is named after Leon Lurje, an influential figure in Swedish figure skating whose dedication and vision helped shape the development of the sport. In 2027, the event includes the ISU Challenger Series for senior and junior teams, as well as an international competition for youth teams, making it one of the highlights of the skating season.
Whether you are a dedicated figure skating enthusiast or curious to experience the sport for the very first time, a weekend filled with excitement, joy, and world-class performances on the ice awaits.
See you at Frölundaborg!
