The Pétanque World Championships at Scandinavium
From 2–5 September 2027, Scandinavium will host the Pétanque World Championships. It will be the first time Sweden stages the championships in their current format.
Scandinavium has seen everything from ice cold hockey games to sand filled equestrian arenas and large scale concerts. Now it is time to put gravel on the menu. In September 2027, the arena will be transformed into a pétanque venue, bringing together the world’s leading players to compete for world championship titles in five different disciplines.
Up to 50 nations are expected to take part in the championships, which include singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. The event is set to become a true celebration for both dedicated pétanque fans and curious first time visitors, and a perfect opportunity to showcase what Gothenburg can deliver as an event city.
See you at Scandinavium!
