World Cup Qualifier: Sweden vs Kosovo

The men’s national team returns to Ullevi this October

For the first time in 16 years, the Swedish men’s national football team will play a competitive match at Ullevi. On October 13, Blågult returns to Gothenburg for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Kosovo – with eyes firmly set on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Tickets go on sale August 27 at 10:00 via ticketmaster.se.

It will be a long-awaited reunion when Sweden steps out onto the pitch at Ullevi this autumn. The last competitive fixture at the stadium was in 2009 – a 4–0 win over Malta in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. This time, the opponent is Kosovo, in a match that could prove decisive on the road to the 2026 tournament in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Gothenburg and Ullevi have time and again shown their love for football – most recently in 2018, when over 30,000 fans packed the stands for a friendly against Peru. Now, it’s time for a new football celebration, with a national team in transition, where every point matters.

The match is part of the Swedish Football Association’s broader initiative to bring the national team closer to fans across the country, and Ullevi – with all its history – is a natural choice for such a key game. Here, legends have been made before. This October, it’s time to write the next chapter.

See you at Ullevi!
