Gothia Cup kicks off with Olympic-scale celebrations at Ullevi

In July, the world’s largest youth football tournament, Gothia Cup, returns to Gothenburg. The tournament begins with a vibrant opening ceremony filled with joy and togetherness.

Gothia Cup brings together youth football teams from all over the world. During the week, many encounters take place, and the biggest of them all is the opening ceremony at Ullevi – a colorful show featuring music, dance, fireworks, and the presentation of all nations. At this moment, participants from every corner of the globe gather to experience immense joy together with coaches, supporters, and an amazing audience. The atmosphere surrounding the opening ceremony is electric, the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up, and the memory will make you smile for the rest of your life.

Good to know

Tickets

All players, leaders, and accompanying family or friends who have booked accommodation through Gothia Cup or paid the participation fee will receive a ticket.
A physical ticket is required for entry; you will receive this with your pre-ordered Gothia Card.
Gothia Cards purchased during the tournament also include entry to the Opening Ceremony — subject to ticket availability.

Please note that the Gothia Card alone is not valid as a ticket.

Time schedule

About 18:30: The arena opens.
20:00: The opening ceremony starts.

Total ban of bags

The Swedish police authorities has decided on a total ban of bags for bigger events, this also applies to this event. The purpose of the ban is to increase the security of the events.

Get to the arena

We encourage you to take your bike, walk or take the public transport to the arena. The nearest stops are called Ullevi Södra and Ullevi Norra. Find the best route with the help of Västtrafik Travel Planner. U can also use a rental bike from Styr & Ställ.

Entrance via entrance 9 with seating in section U.

Amplified arena sound

Via the app Got Event Accessibility, you can get amplified arena sound (hearing loop). Download the latest version of the app via App Store or Google Play. Also remember to bring headphones and a fully charged phone.

Note that you may not bring your own food or drink into the arena.
